Are you a tidy person?
Not really, if I’m honest. I wouldn’t say I’m messy, but I’m definitely not the kind of person who cleans every day. My room usually gets a bit cluttered during the week, especially when I have a lot of coursework. I usually just leave it until the weekend and then do one proper clean.
How important is it for you to keep your room or workspace clean?
I know it’s important, but I don’t always act on it. I can still study even if there are clothes on the chair or a few books scattered across my desk. But once things get too messy, it starts to bother me, so that’s usually when I decide it’s time to clean up.
How do you keep things tidy?
I don’t really have a routine. I usually wait until my room starts looking a bit chaotic, and then I’ll do a proper clean. I’ll throw away any rubbish, put my clothes back in the wardrobe, and organize my desk. It’s probably not the best system, but it works for me.
Did your parents encourage you to be tidy when you were a child?
Yeah, they did. My mum was always telling me to make my bed and clean my room before I went out. I wasn’t a big fan of it back then, but I guess some of those habits have stayed with me, even if I’m not as tidy as she’d probably like me to be.
Do you prefer living or working in a tidy environment? Why?
Definitely. Even though I’m not the tidiest person, I do prefer a clean room. It’s much easier to find my stuff, and I can concentrate better when my desk isn’t covered with random things. The problem is that I’m a bit lazy when it comes to keeping it that way.
Do you enjoy cleaning and organizing, or do you see it as a chore?
I’d definitely call it a chore. Cleaning is never something I look forward to, so I tend to put it off for as long as I can. But once I’ve finished, I always think, “That wasn’t so bad.” It’s nice having a clean room—it just takes me a while to get motivated.
What do you think of people who are overly tidy?
I think they’re quite impressive because they’re so organized, but I probably couldn’t live with someone like that. If they expected everything to be perfectly arranged all the time, we’d probably get on each other’s nerves. I don’t mind a bit of clutter as long as I know where everything is.
Do you think people should be tidy all the time?
No, not really. I think people should try to keep things reasonably tidy, but nobody keeps everything spotless all the time. There are always days when you’re busy or just don’t feel like cleaning. As long as the place isn’t dirty or unhygienic, I don’t think a bit of clutter is a problem.

Are you a tidy person?
Yeah, I’d say I am for the most part, though I’m definitely not obsessed with it. I like having everything in its place because it makes life easier, but if I’ve had a really busy week at work, I’m totally fine with a bit of clutter for a while.
How important is it for you to keep your room or workspace clean?
Honestly, it’s quite important for me. A messy desk does affect my focus. I feel like when my surroundings are cluttered, it’s harder to concentrate and stay organized. So keeping my space tidy is less about appearances and more about helping me feel comfortable and productive.
How do you keep things tidy?
I’m a big fan of the “clean as you go” approach. Instead of letting things pile up and then spending hours cleaning, I just try to put things back where they belong after I use them. It only takes a few seconds and saves me a lot of effort later.
Did your parents encourage you to be tidy when you were a child?
Oh, absolutely. My mum was always reminding me to make my bed and put away my clothes. At the time, I thought she was just being annoying, but looking back, I’m actually grateful because she helped me develop those habits from a young age.
Do you prefer living or working in a tidy environment? Why?
Definitely. Being in a clean, organized space helps me feel calmer and more focused. If I’m trying to work in a messy room, I get distracted quite easily, so having a tidy environment definitely helps me be more productive.
Do you enjoy cleaning and organizing, or do you see it as a chore?
It really depends on my mood. Most of the time, I’d say it feels like a chore, but if I’m feeling stressed, putting on a podcast and organizing my things can actually be quite relaxing. There’s something satisfying about seeing a messy space become clean and organized.
What do you think of people who are overly tidy?
I mean, I admire their discipline, but I think it can sometimes be a bit much. If someone is constantly cleaning or worrying about every little thing being out of place, it might make the atmosphere feel a bit stressful. I think it’s good to be tidy, but there should still be some flexibility.
Do you think people should be tidy all the time?
Not at all. I think it’s good to keep your surroundings reasonably tidy, but expecting perfection all the time isn’t realistic. Life gets busy, and everyone has days when they don’t have the time or energy to clean. As long as a place is hygienic and comfortable to live in, I think a little mess is completely fine.
