How often do you eat fruit and vegetables?
I eat fruit pretty regularly, probably a few times a week, mainly because it’s convenient to grab an apple or a banana between classes. Vegetables, on the other hand, are a different story. Since I live in a dorm without a kitchen, I don’t really cook, so I tend to eat whatever’s available on campus. I’m not someone who goes out of their way to eat healthily, to be honest. Taste and convenience matter more to me.
What are your favourite fruits and vegetables?
I’m quite fond of mangoes and strawberries because I have a bit of a sweet tooth, and I really enjoy their sweet, juicy flavour. As for vegetables, I wouldn’t say I have a particular favourite, to be honest. I’m a bit picky when it comes to vegetables, and I tend to prefer foods that are more flavourful. That said, I’m happy to eat most vegetables if they’re cooked well.
Where do you usually buy fruit and vegetables?
I usually buy fruit and other essentials from the supermarket near my university. I go there pretty regularly to pick up things like bananas, apples, snacks and toiletries, so it’s convenient to get everything in one trip. I rarely buy vegetables, though, mainly because I don’t really cook for myself. I tend to buy things that are easy to eat or require little preparation.
What kind of fruits and vegetables do you dislike?
I’m not a huge fan of grapefruit because it’s quite bitter, and I’d much rather eat something sweet, like a mango or a peach. When it comes to vegetables, I’m not particularly keen on bitter greens or Brussels sprouts. I suppose I’m a bit picky when it comes to food. I’m more likely to eat vegetables if they’re well-seasoned or served with something tasty, rather than just boiled and served on their own.
Were there any fruits or vegetables you didn’t like when you were a child?
Yeah, definitely. I used to hate broccoli and spinach when I was a kid, mainly because I found their texture and flavour quite unpleasant. My parents would encourage me to eat them, but I wasn’t having any of it. I was much more interested in things like chips and sweets. I’m a little less fussy now, but I still wouldn’t choose vegetables over a good burger or a pizza. Taste has always been a big thing for me.
Do you prefer eating fresh fruit or drinking fruit juice?
I’d probably choose fresh fruit, although I enjoy a glass of orange juice now and then. Fresh fruit feels a bit more satisfying, and I like being able to eat it straight away without having to prepare anything. That’s especially convenient when I’m rushing between lectures. Having said that, if I’m buying a drink from a supermarket, I’d sometimes go for fruit juice simply because it’s refreshing and tastes good.
Is it easy to find fresh fruit and vegetables where you live?
Yeah, definitely. There’s a supermarket quite close to my dorm, so getting fresh fruit is never really a problem. They sell everything from bananas and apples to seasonal fruits, and the prices are generally reasonable. Vegetables are easy to find as well, of course, but I don’t buy them. Since I can’t cook in my dorm, I usually just get my meals from the university canteen or nearby restaurants.
Do people in your country like planting vegetables?
I’d say some people do, particularly older people or those who have gardens and enjoy spending time outdoors. Growing your own vegetables can be quite rewarding, since you get to see them grow and eventually use them in your meals. However, I don’t think it’s especially common among university students. Most of us live in dorms or small flats, and we’re usually too busy with classes and assignments to take up gardening as a hobby.
Did you grow any fruits or vegetables at home when you were a child?
No, not really. My family didn’t have a vegetable garden, and none of us was particularly interested in gardening. We just bought our fruit and vegetables from the supermarket like most people do. I remember occasionally helping my parents with small household tasks, but growing food wasn’t something we ever did. To be honest, I was much more interested in eating the food than finding out where it came from!

How often do you eat fruit and vegetables?
I eat them pretty much every single day, to be honest. I usually have fruit with breakfast, like berries in my oatmeal, and I make a conscious effort to include at least one or two servings of vegetables with both lunch and dinner. It’s just become an ingrained habit at this point, and I honestly feel a bit sluggish if I go a day without enough greens.
What are your favourite fruits and vegetables?
Honestly, I’m a huge fan of berries, especially raspberries and blueberries. I love their sweet yet slightly tart flavour, and I find them really refreshing. As for vegetables, I’d have to go with sweet potatoes and spinach. Spinach is super versatile, and roasted sweet potatoes have that rich, naturally sweet flavour and soft texture that’s hard to beat.
Where do you usually buy fruit and vegetables?
Most of the time, I just grab them from the local supermarket near my apartment during my weekly grocery run because it’s convenient. But on weekends, if I have time, I prefer heading to a nearby farmers’ market. The produce there tends to be fresher, often locally grown, and I find it tastes a lot better than what you get on supermarket shelves.
What kind of fruits and vegetables do you dislike?
I’ve never really been able to stand papaya—the smell and the mushy texture just don’t sit well with me. When it comes to veggies, raw celery is definitely at the bottom of my list. I find the stringy texture pretty off-putting, though I don’t mind it as much if it’s cooked down in a soup or broth.
Were there any fruits or vegetables you didn’t like when you were a child?
Oh, definitely! I absolutely hated broccoli when I was a kid. My parents always tried to get me to eat it, but I just found it super bitter. Strangely enough, as I got older and started roasting it with a bit of olive oil and garlic, my taste buds completely changed. Now it’s actually one of my go-to side dishes.
Do you prefer eating fresh fruit or drinking fruit juice?
I’d definitely opt for whole, fresh fruit. Juice can be refreshing, but I find eating whole fruit more satisfying, and I like the texture as well. Plus, some fruit juices contain quite a bit of added sugar, so I generally prefer getting my fruit in its natural form.
Is it easy to find fresh fruit and vegetables where you live?
Extremely easy, yeah. I live in a fairly urban area, so there are several grocery stores and neighbourhood greengrocers within walking distance of my place. They’re usually well-stocked with a great variety of seasonal produce, so getting fresh ingredients is never an issue.
Do people in your country like planting vegetables?
It really depends on where you live. Older generations and people living in suburban or rural areas often enjoy gardening and keep small vegetable patches in their backyards. However, among young adults or people living in city apartments, it’s less common due to space constraints, though some people still grow herbs and vegetables on their balconies.
Did you grow any fruits or vegetables at home when you were a child?
We did! My family had a small garden patch in our backyard, and we used to grow cherry tomatoes, mint, and some strawberries. I remember being super excited as a kid, checking on the tomatoes every day to see if they’d turned red yet. It was a fun little project, and tasting something you grew yourself is always really rewarding.
