What kinds of activities did you enjoy doing when you were a child?
I was a pretty active kid, so I spent a lot of time riding my bike, playing soccer with friends, and exploring the neighborhood. When I was indoors, I loved building things with LEGO and playing video games.
Did you prefer playing indoors or outdoors when you were young?
Definitely outdoors. I used to spend hours outside without even noticing how much time had passed. Whether it was playing sports, riding my bike, or just hanging out with friends, I always found outdoor activities more exciting. That said, on rainy days, I was perfectly happy staying inside and playing games or watching cartoons.
What games did you usually play with your friends during childhood?
We played a mix of organized sports and made-up games. Soccer was probably the most common because all we needed was a ball and some open space. We also played tag, hide-and-seek, and sometimes we’d invent our own rules for games just to make them more interesting. Looking back, those simple games were some of the most fun.
Did you have any hobbies when you were a child?
Yes, quite a few. I was really into drawing for a while, and I also enjoyed collecting trading cards. Later on, I became interested in video games and spent time learning strategies and competing with friends. I tended to pick up hobbies pretty enthusiastically, although I didn’t always stick with them for long.
How much time did you spend playing after school?
Quite a lot, actually. Once I finished my homework, most of my evening was free, so I’d usually spend a couple of hours playing with friends or doing something I enjoyed. My parents made sure I balanced schoolwork and leisure time, but I definitely had plenty of opportunities to play.
Were there any activities that your parents encouraged you to do?
Yes, they encouraged me to play sports because they wanted me to stay active and learn teamwork. They also tried to get me interested in reading by buying books they thought I’d enjoy. At the time, I didn’t always appreciate it, but looking back, I’m glad they pushed me to try different things.
Did you enjoy reading books or watching cartoons as a child?
Honestly, I enjoyed both, but if I had to choose, I’d say cartoons. I used to look forward to watching my favorite shows after school. That said, there were a few book series that I absolutely loved, and once I got into a good story, I could spend hours reading without getting bored.
What was your favorite childhood activity, and why?
My favorite activity was probably playing soccer with my friends. It was something we did almost every day, and it never seemed repetitive. I loved the competition, the teamwork, and the fact that it gave us an excuse to spend time together. Some of my best childhood memories come from those afternoons on the field.
Did you take part in any sports or physical activities when you were young?
Yes, I did. I played soccer regularly and occasionally joined basketball and swimming programs. I wasn’t aiming to become a professional athlete or anything like that—I just enjoyed being active. Sports were a great way to stay healthy, make friends, and have fun at the same time.

What kinds of activities did you enjoy doing when you were a child?
Honestly, looking back, I was a massive fan of anything creative. I used to love making friendship bracelets out of embroidery string, or putting together random dance routines with my friends in the backyard to whatever pop music was popular at the time. We could easily lose a whole afternoon doing that on the weekends.
Did you prefer playing indoors or outdoors when you were young?
I’d say I was a bit of both, but I probably leaned more toward playing outdoors. My neighborhood had a ton of kids around my age, so we’d usually just meet up outside, ride our bikes around the block, or play hide-and-seek until the streetlights came on and our parents called us in for dinner.
What games did you usually play with your friends during childhood?
During recess at school, it was all about classic playground games like four-square, hopscotch, or jump rope. But when friends came over to my house, we were really into board games like Monopoly or Clue—which, to be honest, usually ended in dramatic arguments over who was cheating.
Did you have any hobbies when you were a child?
Yeah, I actually had a massive scrapbooking phase for a couple of years. I would collect random things like movie ticket stubs, birthday cards, and magazine clippings, and spend whole weekends cutting them up and pasting them into notebooks. It was my absolute favorite hobby for a while.
How much time did you spend playing after school?
Usually a couple of hours in the evening. My parents had a pretty strict rule that I had to sit down and finish my homework as soon as I walked through the door. But once that was out of the way, I’d grab a quick snack, change out of my school clothes, and just unwind by hanging out with my siblings or playing with our pets.
Were there any activities that your parents encouraged you to do
They were really keen on me learning how to swim, mostly for safety reasons but also just to keep me active. They actually signed me up for lessons at the local community pool every single weekend. I wasn’t incredibly athletic, to be honest, but they really pushed it because they wanted me to be confident in the water.
Did you enjoy reading books or watching cartoons as a child?
Oh, definitely cartoons—I wasn’t a big fan of reading at all, to be honest. Sitting still with a book just felt like extra schoolwork to me. But on Saturday mornings, I was glued to the TV screen watching cartoons for hours. That was my favorite weekend ritual.
What was your favorite childhood activity, and why?
If I had to pick just one, it would definitely be sleepovers at my best friend’s house. We’d stay up way past our bedtime whispering, eating junk food, and talking about our school crushes. It was my favorite because it felt like the ultimate combination of fun and independence back then.
Did you take part in any sports or physical activities when you were young?
Aside from the swimming lessons my parents dragged me to every weekend, I also took a jazz dance class for a short while because I thought the costumes looked really cool. I absolutely loved the music and the social side of it, but I realized pretty quickly that I didn’t really have the coordination to stick with it long-term. Even so, it was a fun experience, and I’m glad I gave it a try.
